You must inform me if there is any reason why you cannot drive safely or legally. This includes the loss of your valid driving licence and also encompasses, but is not limited to, being under the influence of drink or drugs, including prescribed medication that may affect your ability to drive. It is essential that you ensure you are medically fit to drive. If you have any medical condition and are unsure if it affects your driving ability, please consult your Doctor and the DVLA to report any notifiable medical conditions, as part of our driving test policies. Additionally, you must be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres. Please be aware of our cancellation policy; I reserve the right to terminate any lesson should I believe that you are unfit to drive for any reason.
I reserve the right to refuse to take you to your driving test based on my driving test policies. This includes situations where you haven't informed me of your driving test date, making me unavailable, if you haven't rescheduled your driving test when I advised you to, or if you haven't had regular driving lessons. Additionally, if I believe you are unsafe to drive my tuition car by yourself, I will enforce my cancellation policy.
Cancellations received with less than 48 hours notice will result in full payment being due in accordance with my cancellation policy for driving lessons. Further lessons will not take place until payment is made. If more than 3 driving lessons are cancelled by the pupil with less than 5 days notice, I reserve the right to remove you from my list. If I must cancel your lesson due to circumstances beyond my control, such as mechanical breakdown of the tuition car, bad weather, heavy traffic, or an earlier student's lesson or driving test overrunning for unavoidable reasons, I will rearrange your lesson for the next available, mutually convenient date and time. I will message you once I arrive at the agreed pick-up point. Should you not turn up or contact me within 15 minutes, I will assume the lesson has been cancelled, and full charge will be due. If I am late to your lesson for any reason, you will still receive the full lesson time. Should you need to finish at the set time, I will make up any minutes owed to you at a mutually agreeable time. I will endeavor to finish your lesson at the correct time, though occasionally traffic conditions may result in finishing late; no compensation will be due for any loss. If you have a gap of more than 28 days without prior notification, I will assume you no longer wish to continue your lessons and will remove you from my list, which aligns with my driving test policies.
Payments for driving lessons can be made via Bank Transfer, the BSM website, or by credit/debit card. Please note that all lessons must be paid for in advance. According to our cancellation policy, if payment is not received 48 hours prior to the lesson time, I will assume you have cancelled. This aligns with our driving test policies to ensure a smooth scheduling process.
I will make every effort to ensure that you do not break the law or commit any traffic offences during our driving lessons. You will be under my close supervision at all times, and I may implement controls such as speed limiters and provide verbal or physical guidance, including taking the steering wheel or using the dual control pedals when necessary to prevent dangerous situations or accidents. However, I cannot accept any responsibility for any traffic offences, including speeding or violations of regulations that you may commit while driving. It is important to understand that any fines or penalties incurred are legally the sole responsibility of the driver. Additionally, it is my duty to comply with driving test policies, and if requested, I must provide the driver's details to the DVLA or Police regarding any offences. Please also be aware of our cancellation policy, which outlines the procedures should you need to cancel a lesson.
